How Does The TTBC Field Stack Up?

Amidst a growing chorus of calls for a unifying championship in the sport, many have argued that the Toyota Texas Bass Classic (TTBC) is in fact a unifying championship. It’s slated for Oct. 1–3 at Lake Conroe in Texas.

The TTBC draws the Top 15 anglers in the Bassmaster Elite Series, FLW Tour and PAA Series points. The TTBC also reserves four “wildcard” or “exemption” slots and reinvites the defending champion.

The four extra slots could perhaps be used to argue against recognition of the TTBC as a unifying championship, but regardless, the TTBC is still the only championship to draw from the top three national tours.

When it comes to the nitty-gritty, though, how strong is the field? After all, points races are only a 1-year measure.
