Fish-A-Thon comes through for Casting for a Cure!
Written by Sarah on November 27, 2012
Since the conception of Fish-A-Thon for a Cure by Ryan Bonin in 2009, he has been working hard every year at this great event that raises money for Casting for a Cure in honor of his grandmother, Irene Anderson, whom, like so many others, fought and lost her battle with cancer.
This year’s event held July 21st, 2012 at Deer Creek Conservation Area in Long Point, Ontario saw over 100 anglers participate and together helped to raise $14,000.00!!! These funds were donated to Casting for a Cure which benefits the Canadian Cancer Society to raise awareness, help fund research and help those that are battling cancer.
The day was spent on the water and then after the event Ryan, along with family and volunteers hosted a BBQ along with various prizes donated by generous companies. It was a great day had by all and thank you once again to Ryan Bonin, his family and all the volunteers and those that supported this outstanding event.
