Written by Sarah on September 9, 2011

It’s Back!!! Facts of Fishing Kid’s Day is back at Ontario Place on Saturday, September 17th, 2011!

This year is going to be the best year ever for this event! Not only will the first 400 kids receive a free gift bag full of great stuff from great sponsors such as Shimano, Subway, Toyota, Yamaha, Live Target Lures, Bass Pro Shops, Eagle Claw, &  Mustang Survival, but included as well is a free rod and reel combo courtesy of Shimano so the first 400 kids can not only fish during Facts of Fishing Kid’s Day but throughout the year as well!

Ontario Place is offering free admission and the Facts of Fishing Kid’s Day is a free event so there is no excuses!  Bring the family down to Ontario Place Sept. 17th between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM to enjoy a day learning how to fish, receive a free gift bag (first 400 kids), and have some family fun with Dave Mercer and the Facts of Fishing team! Whether you have never fished or you fish all the time, we will have Pros on hand to teach you how to rig your rods, cast and catch the big one!

Kind of wishing I wasn’t fishing in this season’s final bass tournament. Oh, well, 2-days of bass smashing should be fun nonetheless.

I assume that the kids don’t have to bring rod & reel, correct?  Even if we don’t make it in the first 400?

  • Anonymous

If you do not make it in the first 400 we will have a limited supply of loaner SHIMANO rods on site. So if you do not have a rod you should be fine. But hey if you do not have a rod Just get down here early and be one of the first 400 to get a free one!! Look forward to seeing you there.

Thanks for for the great day, sorry we did not get a chance to say thanks in person.  We gave up the rod and goodies for a fishing spot (who wouldn’t do that?) and my kid caught his first unassisted fish.  He had a lot of fun, I had a lot of fun.  Gobbies are good for something!!!
